much ado about “kicap”

I don’t know whether to laugh or not when I saw this in our ward pantry.

Who is the petty one?

The doctors who conveniently use the soya sauce (kicap) and chili sauce — I don’t think anyone can use that much soya sauce unless their tastebuds are not working.

Or the nurses who felt the necessity to put the labels on the bottles.

Maybe everyone should just bring their own mini bottles of condiment to work! 😉

Summer fun

On my last night in UK, I went to a fair with my nephew and his friends.  Fairs and markets are always intriguing, partly because they are so colourful and you never know what treasures you may stumble upon, if you look hard enough!

The sky was a beautiful shade of blue and contrasted so well with the bright colors of the fair.

There was something for everyone…even the health conscious!

I was tempted by the coffee bar so many times…but I had already had my caffeine fix that morning…luckily I managed to resist it!

Fair food — there were lots of interesting and exotic food available…this is just part of it.

We decided to try out this harmless looking ride for fun…boy, were we deceived!  It was certainly not as harmless as we anticipated…the constant spinning on multiple axes at high velocities left our internal organs slightly out of place.  Luckily, we went on it before we ate…otherwise…eeuuwww….

There was also a live open air concert at the fairgrounds…the group “The Real Thing” was quite the crowd pleaser…managed to get the people singing along and dancing…from small kids right up to cute old couples!  I even saw a man using crutches hopping along to the beat! 😉

And what better way to end the night than with a display of fireworks?

I miss “summer” already…

The cause and answer to everything in Munich is…

This is what I learnt from Chris, the animated and very funny tour guide of Sandemann’s Free Tour in Munich.  I remembered the last time I was in Berlin, I enjoyed their free tour of Berlin quite alot, and hence I was overjoyed that I was just in time for their walk in Munich this time around.

What I remember most about Munich is the jaw-dropping feeling that overcame me as I emerged from the underground station on an escalator into the Marienplatz, one of the main squares in Munich.

As the escalator neared it’s end and glimpses of the city became clearer, I was convinced that the escalator had magically transformed into a time-machine — that I was being transported from the modern world to another time and place, as I found myself surrounded by stunning architecture and magnificent and imposing ancient structures that just left me in awe.

Every direction I turned I was greeted with spectacular views and my shutters just went crazy!

I stood in the center of Marienplatz and did a 360 degrees turn in slow-motion…twice…just to soak up the atmosphere, before I began my adventures in the wonderful city of Munich…

But that, is another story in itself. 😉

Apparel with an attitude

You know how people say a picture speaks a thousand words?  Well, these witty t-shirts certainly proved otherwise. The message is loud and clear…and no pictures needed!

And just because I love cartoons, here’s what caught my attention in the first place!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

But if you try sometimes, you just might find,

You get what you need.
