Hehe…just a few of my new acquisitions.  My TV top is becoming more crowded now.  I really need a bigger space for them! 🙂

Tea time indulgence

Within walking distance from my place, there’s this stall selling the most delectable snack.  Before the uncle even opens his stall, there is already a line forming as everyone patiently waits for the artist’s creations.

Putu Piring

When you pick up the little fluffed-up pillows which are still warm and take a bite…and the generous dollop of sweet gula melaka oozes out…wow…it’s just heavenly!

Tea time

Another favourite snack of mine…deep fried tapioca balls.  I’m sure there is a name to it, but I can’t seem to remember.  Tons better than pisang goreng, if you ask me!

So if you’re hungry for a snack, head over to Jalan Ujong Pasir, opposite the Portugese Settlement.  I’m gonna work off my snacks now!

The “Teoh” clan in Malacca

Last weekend, we transformed the auditorium into a “jungle” when we had our annual Daycare Children’s Party with the theme Animal Kingdom.  It was a blast!!!  Photos will come later…my photographer, pw is still compiling them and she’s a busy girl!

Pw, Bro, Alvin and Gerard came down to offer some free labour (many many thanks to them 🙂 ) which I am eternally grateful for!  The “Teoh” clan (as we were labelled by my boss) were the photographers, decorators, labourers, balloon shapers, cleaners, crowd controllers and alot more.

Needless to say, the way to show my gratitude…good food!!!  We had dinner at the Teochew Restaurant which had been featured in many TV features and magazines.  Reservations are recommended to avoid dissapointment.

We had the signature dish, Oyster noodles…unfortunately, we were too busy eating to snap photos!  Trust me, it’s delicious.

The famous dessert Orr-nee is to die for!!!  I have never had a better one anywhere else.  But it is rather filling, so unless you have a big appetite, order less than the number of people in your party.  Or else, Uncle’s feelings will be hurt when you don’t finish your dessert!

Giraffes and snakes

After dinner, we headed to Calanthe’s at Jonker’s  for some pick-me up.  Most of us are coffee lovers 😉  Calanthe’s is one of my favourite coffee haunts…and the price is good too!  Hahaha!  With Christmas around the corner, the place is already starting to look festive…and the radio in my head is continuously playing Christmas jingles!  Whoopee!!

I’m not a shopaholic!

All I want for Christmas is…

Happiness and the Blackforest

Blackforest delight

Doesn’t the cake look yummylicious?  Believe it or not, it’s homemade!  No, of course not by me…the magnificent chef Ah Nee made it for Ah Yep’s birthday!  It’s one of the best blackforest I’ve ever had, you’ve to take my word for it…since you can only look at the photos!!! Hahahaha…

We went to this Japanese place in Melaka Raya called Wa Zen, the food is quite good…and ambience is inviting too.  Definitely will be back.  No pictures of the food as we were all starving when the food came.

Happy birthday, Ah Yep…wishing you lots of love! 🙂

PS/ Why the picture of the ladies?  Those who know me well will know that this is one of my favourite places, hee hee.

Remedy 101 : Self-combustion

Posted in cloudy days, penny for my thoughts on December 6, 2008 by twotwoeight

What happens when you self-implode?  Do your insides get mashed together and everything becomes a messy mix of juices and organ bits?  Or do they all melt into a gooey semi-digested pulp from the gastric juices?  Seems kinda gross, if you ask me.  Just goes to show, it’s better (and cleaner) to explode, rather than implode.  Of course, it’s not always feasible to explode, and thus, there will be times when you’re just bursting with anger and bitterness but you choose to implode, simply because there is no other way.

I shall blame the stars and powers that be for this affliction, for being born a Libran has made me intolerant to the upset of balance.  For example, the unqeual distribution of manpower within a team.  With the feeble excuse that the group with less people can function as expected because they’re STRONG?  And the other team needs more people because otherwise?  WTF???  How can you exploit your so-called ‘stronger’ players just because of that?  In that case, wouldn’t you conclude that to have less work and to get away with things, one just has to be less dependable, more lazy and less ‘strong’?

Some people say that the villain eventually gets what’s coming to them.  I’m not that patient.  I need to see some instant “paybacks”.  Even if it’s just a tiny one.

Push and push and push.  One day, the strong ones will become weak and sick.  And then, they will turn.  As has been said, within every hero, there could be a villain.  I hope this villain never surfaces.
