Eeeeeeee-gor

“Everyone has an evil bone. You just have to choose not to use it.”

How true, how true.  I just came back from watching Igor and I absolutely loved it!  And what Igor said to Eva is so profound.  Hss and me immediately thought of one person who we are just dying to say it to.  Of course this is only a dream, as I foresee that day will never come!

igor

Anyway, back to Igor, it tells the story of a hunchback, who was stigmatized because of his hump to become an Igor.  He was sent to Igor-school to train as a sidekick for evil scientists in the village of Malaria (beats me why they chose to name their kingdom after an illness) and his most important task is to “Pull that switch”.  How I laughed when they showed the Igor-school, as I have a penguin named Igor and the thought of sending him to Igor-school is just too hilarious!  I would be telling you the whole story if I go on, so to cut the long story short, he defies all odds and breaks out of his pre-defined role to emerge triumphant with his true love, Eva.  The last scene where there were blind orphans singing “I can see clearly now the rain has gone” just left me in stitches!!! You’ll understand when you go see the show.

My favourite character?  Scamper.  A cynical rabbit who was brought back from the dead by Igor and also made immortal.  Hence, throughout the show, Scamper treats us with numerous unsuccessful attempts at suicide and a smogasbond of sarcastic wit!

Go watch it! 😉

I think my man moved!

Posted in love, radio in my head on November 27, 2008 by twotwoeight

This song has been playing in my head like a broken radio recently…well, more than the normal radio in my head anyway.

The Script – The Man Who Can’t Be Moved

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I’m not gonna move,
Got some words on cardboard got your picture in my hand,
Saying if you see this girl can you tell her where I am,
Some try to hand me money they don’t understand,
I’m not…broke I’m just a broken hearted man,
I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do,
How can I move on when I’m still in love with you…

Cos if one day you wake up and find that you’re missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet,
And you’d see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

So I’m not moving…
I’m not moving.

Policeman says son you can’t stay here,
I said there’s someone I’m waiting for if it’s a day, a month, a year,
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows,
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go.

I’m not moving…
I’m not moving.

People talk about the guy
Who’s waiting on a girl…
Oohoohwoo
There are no holes in his shoes
But a big hole in his world…
Hmmmm

and maybe I’ll get famous as man who can’t be moved,
And maybe you won’t mean to but you’ll see me on the news,
And you’ll come running to the corner…
Cos you’ll know it’s just for you

I’m the man who can’t be moved
I’m the man who can’t be moved…

Cos if one day you wake up and find that you’re missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet,
And you’d see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.
[Repeat in background]

So I’m not moving…
I’m not moving.

I’m not moving…
I’m not moving.

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I’m not gonna move.

multi dimensional me

Hhmmm, I wonder which corner my man is on?

the pseudo-Kylie fan

Yup, that’s me.  I took 3 days off from work, took a bus down to Singapore, and slept in a hostel just to go to her concert.  Not so pseudo, heh?

The Hive

Check out our themed-hostel room!  Clean and quite comfortable…I highly recommend the place for budget travellers.  The Hive : The Backpacker’s Hostel

Well, it’s no secret that my brother’s a huge Kylie fan, and seeing as this is as near as he will ever get to Kylie, of course he would not miss it for the world!  Well, truthfully, it was quite good and I did enjoy myself.  It’s rather hard to sit still at a Kylie concert (even if you didn’t know the lyrics to the songs!) and the multimedia display was quite captivating.  And I must say she still looks damn good at 40 and having survived breast cancer.

Kylie concert

Digressing abit…

We went to the Singapore Zoo to see the most talked-about exhibit recently.

Singapore Zoo

Yup, you guessed it…the white tigers.  They still looked abit unrest, prowling up and down constantly.  Maybe they’re still traumatized by the recent events.

My visit to Singapore would not be complete if I didn’t have my favourite egg tarts from Chinatown!!!  Oh yeah, the owner of the shop is a dead ringer for Sylvia Chang!  Although she wasn’t around this time, so couldn’t show Bro who she is.

egg tarts!

Well, it was a good weekend…and if I was still keeping a diary, this would go down as “The Kylie weekend” and the 2 hours I became a Kylie fan! 😉

the good food and pre-Kylie weekend

I’m back!  Have been away for a couple of days and it’s good to be back in the comforts of my own place.  The weekend started off with dinner at Checkers, a place with no signboard at Bukit Damansara.  The food was great…although if you’re not a meat fan it may not be to your liking!

Checkers and Chez

Oh yeah, Chez (the latest addition to my family) went along for dinner too, and the owner actually said to him “No outside food allowed”.  Hhmpphh…

Beefeater at Italiannies

Hss was craving for Italiannies so we had dinner there the next day and Beefeater tagged along.  The roast chicken was fabulous!!! I love the herb-infused sauce that it was swimming in.  And the salad gave me some ideas of my own!

Grimm's stepsiblings

Saw these and was inspired to make Grimm No.2 as Grimm was persistently asking for a sibling.  So I spent Sunday sewing and sewing.  Unfortunately, I ran out of cotton and only managed to stuff his head!  So PW was given the task of completing Grimm No.2 and I’ve been told he looks like a bodybuilder on steroids now!  Watch out for photos of him soon!

Hang in there!

My dear friend, when the going gets tough…do what Little Bit does. 🙂

Little Bit the acrobat

Little Bit has turned out to be quite the acrobat.  It’s amazing how he can plan a whole workout with just a ladder.  Hehe.  I get tired just looking at him!
