to believe or not to believe…

We were talking about the supernatural forces at work today, and it seemed that everyone had a story of their own to tell.  And this is just about experiences IN the hospital, mind you.  Some were pretty scary…and some were just downright hilarious.  Of course I never really wanted to listen to them, as I didn’t want to fuel my already overactive-imagination, seeing as I spend a couple of nights in the hospital each month.  But, curiosity got the better of me.  Hhmmm…  Some of the stories were told with so much conviction that you can’t help but wonder.

Recently, something happened that reminded us all of the movie “The Exorcist”…and despite the cerebral part of us telling us that there has to be an organic cause, we still can’t help wondering if there is an underlying supernatural cause behind it…secretly, of course.

Went for Ah Leng’s pre-b’day celebration this evening at a place recommended by my boss 😉

The highlight of the evening?  Ah Nee’s homemade Tiramisu which even the owner of the restaurant was lusting after!

Yay…October is just around the corner now!

the story of Pierre

Remember the new man in my life…Pierre?  Well, heehee…he’s not really as big a man as I hoped! 😉

Well, he’s back to his original size now…and sitting on top of my dresser abit more spongy than before.  And with a straight neck!

The Great 4B’s Trip

Was talking to a friend of mine who is going to go gallivanting around Provence for the next two weeks…and had me reminiscing my trip to Europe last year.  Went through my photos and remembered what a good time I had with my sister during the trip.  Sigh…

I need a holiday!!!

A collage of happiness and a weekend rendezvous

With “Reunited, and it feels so good…” playing in our heads, and so it was that the 3 tukias were together once again and had a blast of a weekend.  Didn’t do anything exciting or adventurous in particular, nor did we see any breathtaking scenic views, neither were there life-changing experiences…but yet, we had the time of our lives.  Two words.  Kindred spirits.

It had been awhile since we last got together for a session of sampat-ness, midnight-to-dawn chats, collapsing with laughter over lame jokes, having breakfast together, catching up on each others’ lives…doing nothing, and yet everything.

Su brought us to a lovely place for brunch on Saturday morning, PS Cafe at Dempsey Road whose tagline is “A refuge for social gathering.  Good food and drink”.  A cozy place with delicious food…perfect for a lazy weekend late brunch!

Some random shots while we were roaming around the streets of Singapore.  Met up with MT on Sunday for dinner at his favourite Italian place, Pietrasanta which serves authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy and rustic ambience.  Perfect!

What do 3 good friends who are kids-at-heart do when they get together?  Of course silly things like taking sticker photos…go for self-pampering sessions…retail therapy…taking silly mugshots in public…asking for First Date and Lovers Tiff from totally random strangers and much much more!!!  And so with heavy hearts and plans for our next reunion, we bid each other goodbye…for now!!!  🙂

reversal of roles

The doctor becomes the patient.  It’s been a long long time since I last went to the clinic.  Didn’t think that after so many years, I ended up doing that in Singapore.  What an experience!  Developed generalized urticaria halfway through my trip and ended up at the nearby GP as hospital charges were excorbitant!  Plus I didn’t think I would go into anaphylactic shock…not yet.  While I was sitting in the waiting room for hours, many random thoughts were running in my head.  Among them, what my patients feel each time they attend our clinics.  Hhmmm…

Anyway, they didn’t have IV Hydrocortisone…and all I was offered was some Prednisolone.  Beggars can’t be choosers…so I took them anyway.  A special thanks to the doctor who was kind enough not to charge me consultation fees!!!  You know the feeling you get when your hands are tied?   Yeah, that was what I felt then with no access to the facilities and drugs I usually have to.

Needless to say, the moment I arrived home, I dashed to the hospital and had Hss set a branulla for me and give me the magic potions!!!  So here I am at home today…giving myself 6 hourly Hydrocoortisone and Piriton.  The urticaria is still here…but improving.  It better heal by tomorrow…coz’ I’m on call!!!  Keeping my fingers crossed!
